Lena Valenzuela's research focuses on the representation of the white western

female figure and the clichés surrounding issues of race, power and gender.

Exploring themes, codes and colors associated by default with a category of

people, she delves into the roots of preconceived thought patterns evolving in

our societies. By creating ghostly compositions that speak to our humanity, she

also finds a balance between the notion of kitsch and symbolism.
